THE LAST ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP SESSION FOR YEAR 2010

Our ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP MALAYSIA @ BANDAR UTAMA ended year 2010 with an 'Amazing Race' Challenge for the last session today!!! Although we missed having Patrick Gotham, Jenn Collins, Adriano Abila, Marlene Kandler, .Azliza Razali, Fatintafrina Tareh, Ilyanna Aylin Ayob, Izalea Ayob, Sayf Ismail, Amy Ho, Farah Ekmal Afiza Abdul Halin, Syed Mahadzir Syed Manshor & Viki Lim.... and expected Azlan Ramli to be absent too, but we had a good 49 recruits at Alpha.

Recruits were pre-informed to expect an early nice  white  'wet' christmas surprise pressie from Sarge Dann and the 'reds' community. Sarge Dann, Corporal Nawal & Corporal Tom was the reds incharge for the platoon and had spent 5 hours preparing, trekking and planning for this last session. Their commitment was exemplary... their dedication was admirable.

The platoon was divided into three teams Alpha, Bravo & Charlie under the supervision of one Red for each team. Coincidentally.. or maybe fated, the kiasu-est were all in my team.. James Fong, Joe Liew, Joannita Zaleha Yusoff, Pooi Ching Khiew, Ody Nurfuadi Ruzalli etc etc...

There were 3 IMPORTANT RULES... (1) every team must collect items number 1 to 8 according to the numbering in the map (2) once collected, no items are allowed to be drop on the ground (3) no team members can be left more than 3 steps apart. Any breach of the rules, our legs will suffer with squat pulses..



All the three teams must select a team leader. Happily, we elected James Fong to be our team leader!! and had a short briefing before the Amazing Race.

While other team was trying to read and interpret the map, we quickly led the team to proceed forward without wasting any time and allow the team captain to read the map while we running forward to the first check-point. We reiterated to the team members to follow the leader. While running to the first check-point, we read out the riddle to know what to pick-up at each check-point. We crack all the riddles while running before arriving at each of the 8 check-point.

We ran in group without leaving anybody behind. Every team has a good mixture of Ranger, Seals and Delta.

Every team took their own path. Its a race!! its an the OBC AMAZING RACE!!!!!!

Squat pulses as punishment...

Every team must cracked 8 riddles to know the items to collect at 8 check-point. Those items for each team differs at each check-point and if the team answered the riddles wrongly, they will be picking up the wrong items.

Those riddles were prepared by our Dr Malek Aziz with an err.. difficulty level 1 only. We did not want the riddles to be too complicated since some people may be 'sleep-exercising' at 5am.

With a Chartered Accountant as our team captain, those riddles were... challenging but manageable. We were running too fast.. that a certain point, we incidentally left our team-member more than 3 steps apart... as a result, squat pulses.... and more squat pulses..... and i think we had the most squat pulses. We spent quite abit on Squat pulses punishments... but we didnt mind, what better way to spend the new year than to spend it with a nice hot legs!!

We ran.. we sing... we cheer.... we screamed while running from one check point to the other. The team spirit was great. Every team member was helpful and was very cooperative.

Solving the riddle was not easy although it was not difficult... some went and search for it at the stinking rubbish dump...

After much deliberation.. even LAWYER.. Lilian Lee too tried to use her legal skill to answer the riddle.

When the last team arrived, Sarge Dann Stopped the time and did the item count to check if all items were correctly collected. The reds did the count......... and we were all eager to know the winner??!!!
