I am also pleased to announce the promotion of Sarge Dann as the highest rank in the COBC, Malaysia and the sixth Staff-Sarge in the whole ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP network globally. He is the first Malaysian and the first asian to be promoted to one of the highest rank by Chief. Sarge Dann has satisfied the minimum hours required conducting sessions as a Platoon Commander for the past 18 months at 5 platoons (more than 1,000 hours as Platoon Commander) and had successfully groomed his subordinates to be capable of carrying out the duty of a Sergeant and had trained all the Lance Corporals that will soon to be promoted to the rank of Section Commander with the rank of a Corporal.
These promotions are imperative given COBC's immediate vision, mission and recent expansion plans. As a Staff Sarge, Dann will be responsible to ensure ala Mc Donald concept in homogeneity quality and deliverables at all 13 platoons and to give birth to more platoon commanders with the rank of Sergeant and more Corporals for our short term expansion plan to create a healthy, fit and sexy society... ala Airasia, "Now Everybody Can Exercise"... and be sexy!!
We have always belief in the term "Practice makes Perfection". With more platoons, our instructors will clocked in more hours to gained the experience to deliver services of the highest quality. Our instructors are the back bone of our services. We also belief in a long term working relationship. The promotion is only a start. We are also introducing employee share options scheme ESOS to ensure our family members remain in the family for the benefits of our recruits. We are here to stay. We are here for you.
Today, we are proud to launched two platoons in Ampang, 2 platoons in Penang and 1 platoon in Shah Alam. Tomorrow we will be launching Shah Alam second platoon and 2 platoons in Cyberjaya. This is over and above the current 5 platoons in Bandar Utama, Subang Jaya USJ1, Damansara Heights and Seal Pups (bootcamp for kids) at International Schools and Bandar Utama.
Our first session today saw more than 60 recruits at Bandar Utama, Ampang and an encouraging numbers in Penang and Shah Alam. All benchmark assessments are now done on an oval shape track rather than the customary circle to standardize the benchmarking assessment at all locations as some field are smaller for a round shape track. The oval shape is for the same distance 200meter per lap.
The benchmark assessment is important for instructors to assess and keep-in-record recruits current fitness condition to be compared with their performance after a month of training with us. For those that have completed their assessment, well done and do not despair if the result is not encouraging. The weather and field conditions too played an important role in determining the timing. For recruit that have not done their assessment, all the best.
Last but not least, although all the new sergeants (inc Staff-Sarge) are on probation (P) and will only be confirm by Chief Brabon which will soon be in Malaysia, but they are already on a different pay-tier.. so... how? Dinner on them? kena belanja makan? Musang King?
Congratulations to all that promoted!
