MBW TAEKWONDO FESTIVAL 2011 (SPARRING & POOMSAE CHAMPIONSHIP)

Kepong, 13 November 2011. Wong Siew Pang or more popularly known as Master Ben Wong (MBW) organised its first and biggest Taekwondo festival this year with three main event being contested under Sparring, Poomse and Destruction (breaking planks with fancy moves). There were three age divisions under sparring competition with age group category for 7 to 9 years old, 10 to 13 years old and 14 to 18 years old. This first Taekwondo festival had attracted more than 300 students.

There were 10 students of various categories competed under the DDF Taekwondo Academy whose President, Master Daing or full name Daing Daniel Fitri is also the highest ranking instructor at the Australian base, 20 years old military-inspired group outdoor training program, CHIEF'S ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP. Daing Daniel Fitri or more popularly known as Staff-Sarge (COBC) (P) Dann by the COBC fraternity was the protege of Master Ben Wong and was Malaysia former Gold Medalist for Taekwondo. Master Ben Wong is a 7th Dan Black Belt and one of the 8 Taekwondo Grandmaster in Malaysia. At his prime, Master Ben Wong was World Top 3 best Taekwondo fighter and was nicknamed the Malaysia Tiger. Master Ben Wong was also a former coach for Malaysia Taekwondo team.

COBC 6/12: 11.11.11

On this historic date 11.11.11, we charted another milestone to have the television crew recording us while working out at the CHIEF'S ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP, Malaysia that was organised by Advance Tan, a loyal recruit and COBC strong supporter from our Subang Jaya USJ1 Alpha platoon. Today too, we delivered what our recruits requested for more equipments. We had the Cage & TRX, Jerry Can, Battling Ropes, Sandbag and Mock Rifle for what is known as the Toys Grinders.. Okay I made that name up but it literally sounds like it. Oooh.. forgot to mention, I also had John Chuah as one of the equipment when I had to piggy-bag him at one station!! Damn John Chuah.... please go on 8WC diet!! Fortunately, we were excused. 69kg Armin cannot be carrying 100kg 'equipment'... he is only designed to carry light petite women equipment.

The television crew arrived as early as 5:00am and was introduced to COBC team member. A notice was posted at here for recruits at Bandar Utama alpha and bravo platoon to err.. Mmm.. to workout in make-up, skirts, wax etc...

WEIGHT ASSESSMENT & OBESITY ANALYSIS WITH COMPLIMENT FROM COBC

We hear ya!! Thank you for your recent feedback via our online survey. With effect from December 2011 intake that began as early as 28 November 2011 (See bottom page for full program), we wont just record your Benchmark Assessment on your first session but we will also prepare for you a complimentary Body Composition Analysis in our latest collaboration with iLife Nutrition. Why? because you asked for it..

So what will happen during the Body Composition Analysis? For a start, you will be seated on a chair with both arm and leg strapped, there will be one hunk and a babe holding both your arm and leg down and a doctor with a few sharp knives will cut and extract all your fat to weigh them on a weighing scale... No! just kidding. The whole procedure is very simple and painless.. no needles, no knives and definitely no parang. There will be a Body Composition Analyzer! Not one but three iLIFE Nutritionist will be at site to measure individual recruit's body composition.

CHIEF ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP IS EXPANDING.. AGAIN.. and again!!!

YAHOO.. HOOYAH!! Recruits rule!!!

COBC 5/12: TURNTABLE TABATA

We were excited to learn that Shawn Russel from OBC, Cogee beach platoon in Australia is here in Kuala Lumpur for a meeting and we were expecting to have the Cogee Delta at Bandar Utama this morning until he discovered that he left his shoe back in Australia....Shawn Russel ended up doing inferno at the hotel instead and we had a funtabulous session with the Bermuda Triangle Square-angle... Why the name? because from a four straight rank in square shape.. slowly one by one begining with Uncle John Chuah slowly secretly disappeared to the back stalling?.. Oops.. Sorry ar uncle, cant help but to picked on you... you so pick-able!! No.. today's circuit codename: Turntable tabata!

What did Shawn Russel missed today? a heckuvalot. For one, we had a new sort of punishment for late-comers. Yes, we hear ya (online feedback form)... the usual squat pulses were replaced with T'Dance, Lunge pulses. Waa not just the name sounds sexier but the supposed punishment will give us hotter ass and shoulder!! Asked and you shall get. Thank you to the two late-comers, don't we all feel sexier this morning. I dont know what is the real name called but I created the name T'dance lunge pulses because the hands stretch (on double arm distance form) mimicked a T'shape.

How does this  Turntable tabata works? We formed via four sides, a square shape with each side occupied by recruits of different ranks from Ranger, Seal and Delta. Each side focussed on different muscle group. The Delta began with Cardio workout on Side-A, Side B did core muscle, Side C-shoulder and Side-D  had the Legs. The objectives of the workout was to introduced and corrected recruits forms and technique while targeting specific muscle group. These workout is a foreplay at the COBC but many already had their orgasm. Please do not missed any session as the main-course is yet to come!! At the COBC, you can never predict what is next in menu.

COBC 4/12: BUFFET & ALA CARTE

Rain, Hail or Shine.. Raya, Deepavali, Gong Xi Fa Cai or Christmas or any public holiday for as long as there is no lightning, COBC session does not take a break! Such is our health akin of waking up and brushing our teeth, we do not wake up and take a break from brushing our teeth. COBC is not just a proven program but it is a lifestyle that we live and on Eid' ul adha Hari Raya Qurban and public holiday today.. we workout as usual. I was at Bandar Utama this week after spending the whole week at Ampang. Infact, some crazy recruit (worst than me), went for a double session back to back at alpha and bravo... Bravo!! The crazy bunch were Kenny Vibram Lock Weng Heng, Wennice Chai, Ali Rahimi Ferdosinezhad, Loo Ann and Chi Yan Lai.. (Did I miss anyone?). (Err.. dont ask me what Wennice was doing in the right picture)

Such is how flexible we are at the COBC, those that have the energy and mojo, if you are our paid recruit, you can attend any sessions as many as you want at any of the 13 platoons in 7 locations.. BUFFET STYLE!!! and yes.. JK Jun King, we hear ya!!! Since there is a request for ALA' CARTE too, for those with hectic schedule , we are pleased to say that our admin has agree to offer an Ala Carte.. pay as you come service (subject to place availability). For more information, please email me at armin@bootcampmalaysia.com

Q&A ON TRAINING, WORKOUT FORMS AND BOOTCAMP

After sending out on random sampling 500 online feedback form to immediate-past  and present recruit yesterday and although we are still receiving feedback but those that we can act upon now, we shall do so now! We hear ya.. !!

One of the many suggestions received was to have a support group when recruit is in doubt and needed help to further their goals, to understand certain rationale for some workout forms and even to clearly understand the correct technique and forms. At the COBC, we view forms and technique very seriously and discounting or cheating in forms and technique is a crime at COBC. Online Support group is important and a committee has been establish and entrusted to develop the support. However, as an immediate temporary measure, we have fixed a "Q&A LIVE-SESSION" at our COBC-Facebook PAGE at HERE.

The main panelist is COBC Staff Sarge (P) Dann and Sarge (P) Boon cscs. Click HERE for Staff Sarge Dann's profile and HERE for Sarge Boon's profile. All COBC instructors and admin are also available for any inquiries. The LIVE session will only be available for 1 hour, so please pre-prepare your questionnaires before hand. We welcome all questions or doubts or inquiries whether on health, food, diet, forms or shoes but not on handbags ya.

UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL WITH COBC PENANG PLATOON COMMANDER

After months of deliberation and attending to various interviews after interview to find the right candidate, CHIEF'S ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP (COBC) had finally expanded our wing to Penang on 31st October 2011 after establishing a strong chemistry with former Asia No 2 best Karate Champion Cheah Boon Chong cscs!! Getting the right people was never an easy task. Even the man who was responsible for Malaysia's phenomenal growth, Malaysia 4th Prime Minister YABhg Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad too, had made some wrong decision in getting the right man. Small people like us, bears a higher risk. After carefully assessing Cheah Boon Chong (cscs)'s credentials and most importantly his passion in what we at the COBC belief, we wrote and spoke to Chief Brabon detailing our candidate's capability and after various discussions and online conference with Australia, Cheah Boon Chong cscs was made Penang's Platoon Commander with the COBC rank and COBC nickname "Sarge (COBC) (P) Boon". We are pleased to welcome Sarge Boon into our family at the COBC.

Sarge Boon has 3 years of experience as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist and exercise physiologist for young athletes in the industry having been attached to the National Sports Institute of Malaysia. At the National Sports Institute of Malaysia, Sarge Boon was responsible for the designing and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for elite, state and grass root athletes as well as for the development of elite performance team project. He also develops and collect Malaysia state elite athlete physical assessment norms. Upon accepting Sarge Boon into the COBC fraternity, Sarge Boon was exposed to COBC Standard Operation Procedures, terminology and methodology for a fix period with Staff Sarge (COBC) (P) Dann before he was assessed at the field as a platoon commander in Damansara Heights and Subang jaya.

NATIONAL CO-CURRICULUM EXCELLENCE AWARD 2011

KASIH LEIA IXORA AZHAR, 12 years old from Bukit Damansara Primary School (SK Bukit Damansara) won the National Co-Curriculum Excellence Award 2011 for primary school girl category. Kasih was earlier selected  as Kuala Lumpur state candidate and competed with 4 other students from Pahang, Kedah, Kelantan and Negri Sembilan to win the prestigious National Award. Kasih Leia Ixora was accompanied by her parent Chempaka Emalin Pahamin and Azhar Sulaiman in Sarawak to attend the most prominent recognition to students, teachers and schools under the Ministry of Education, Malaysia.

The eldest of the Pahamin's third generation, Kasih was 'processed' in London when Azhar Sulaiman was completing his post-graduate architecture diploma and Chempaka Emalin Pahamin was studying her Masters in Law. Kasih was born in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia on 30th October 1999 and her presence since, had never failed to make everyone smile, giggled and laughed. She loves to sing, dance and loves the stage and microphone. She will speak, sing and dance on stage and infront of the camera without even being invited... sometimes, she even speak, sing and dance alone, all by herself. Kasih converse well with everyone be it with adult, child and even cats and monkeys!! Kasih brings with her a cheerful and positive vibes wherever she goes. The award signified our belief that curriculum activity is unequivocally as important as education. The award itself speaks of Kasih. Although we siblings very rarely argued but we almost did when I insisted of adopting Kasih away form Chempaka when Kasih was born. I should have kidnapped her. Kasih is the jewel of the Pahamins.

COBC NOV: 3/12 NOVEMBER RAIN

With a red infected right eye, styled in a Tag Heuer sports spectacles (for not being able use contact lense), I left home early at 5:20am to greet the 60 odd recruits registered for BU-Alpha platoon and to presonally wish Otaii Chan Meng Yam a happiest birthday but was greeted by a heavy downpour instead. Thanks to Kenny Lock Weng Heng who almost did the rain-dance yesterday calling and crying to have a session in the rain this morning. Your wish came true but my 'stoopeed' Tag Heuer spectacles does not come with any wipers so I had to re-routed to Ampang instead.

Barely 12 minutes later via the Duke, I arrived at Ampang Platoon in Taman Setiawangsa. Sarge (P)(COBC) Nawal, COBC's own version of Demi Moore in G.I. Jane was the Platoon Commander in charge and was assisted by Lance Corporal (P) (COBC) Riz. Sarge (P) (COBC) Tom became the platoon commander SA-Zulu & SA-Yankee and CJ-Alpha & CJ-Bravo and Staff Sarge (P) (COBC) Dann the platoon commander for BU-Alpha & BU-Bravo as well as USJ1-Alpha and USJ1-Bravo. In Penang, we have the former number 2 best, Karate Champion in Asia, Sarge (P)(COBC) Boon. To get up close and personal with all the platoon commanders, click HERE. Gender plays no role in military and being in a military-inspired bootcamp at COBC, ladies and gentlemen are treated the same. If the men can do 16 pushups for Delta, the ladies are expected to do the same. If the ladies can run faster which they do, the men are expected to be at par. Although by hormone and biological nature, men is supposedly stronger, you will be surprise to see those ladies running faster and are more agile than average men.

THERE IS NO BETTER TIME THAN NOW!! TO BUY A PROTON!

Should we wait for the new year for a new car with a new manufacturer year printed on its excise and vehicle registration card? or should we buy a car now and lost 1 year of depreciation value is amongst those dilemma faced by car buyer every year as the year coming to an end. Contrary to popular belief that many buyer would wait for the new year, this last quarter is actually the best period to buy!! Why? because of these three factor, year-end sale is an opportunity not to be missed.

1. Because car manufacturers/distributors want to secure their market share and the automotive Total Industry Volume (TIV) only records vehicle registered ending 31 December.

2. Because vehicle manufacturer/distributor would not want to carry forward vehicle with excise bearing a year old car because of factor no 3 below.

3. Because of the myth that car buyer would wait for the new year to avoid unnecessary depreciation value. In reality, the depreciation value is subjective and actually dependent on the financial credibility of the person buying the car. If his financial credibility is strong, the said car can fetch a higher margin of finance and vice-versa if the financial track record is not strong. This is what determines the value of the car (used car). Of course, it is also subjected to overall supply and demand but in a nutshell, new car buyer would usually hang on to a new car for at least five years before replacing the car (due to the longer period of finance). Majority would look for the best bargain now and is less concern with the value 5 years from today and the best bargain for the year is towards the year end!!... which is NOW!

So, what does PROTON has to offer coming to this calender year end? Yes!!! Kick @ss price!! Only for limited period and limited stocks. All discounts below is applicable for all registration up to NOVEMBER irrespective of booking dates.

COBC NOV 2/12: ITS ALL ABOUT BEING NATURAL AND ORGANIC

While we expand our location farther away, the world deepens smaller!! Unbeknown who were the recruits at Ampang Alpha platoon, I arrived very early at 5am to check out the... err.. organic field. Even earlier than Dr Malek Aziz whom is always at least 30 minutes early at every session. The field was very organic! While at the field, I met and made friends with a lot of new people... Interesting people I must say.

Today, I finally met a long time FACEBOOK friend Ocho Mc Cloud or his real name.. Ezaddin Mat Awan while covered in mud during session and two Damansara Heights Otaii (Old Timer) Haidar Akmal and Noora. While getting updates from FACEBOOK COBC page, I met Amnan Bazli Pahamin's former college mate, Patricia Lim Poh Kam whom is a recruit at Subang Jaya USJ1 alpha platoon. Most of those 30 plus recruits at Ampang are newbies and to see those determination in them, reminded me of my first session almost three years ago... the first taste of Organic Mud. The newbies seemed somewhat accustomed to the 'greens' or should I say brown.

With current weather, not surprising everyone had a good taste of nature but only in BU-Bravo platoon that they went topless!!! TOPLESS!!

NOW EVERYONE CAN BE SEXY AT A KILLER PRICE!!

In view of popular demand, we are pleased to extend the RM49 promotion (from the usual RM299) via the GroupOn network for just another 2 days!!  .....counting down!! Do not wait!! This is your last opportunity to be part of a global healthy, fit and sexy network!! Proven and guaranteed result!! The world oldest, 20 years old military-inspired program is designed to make sure a couch potato lost his weight and serious athletes improved their performance. It is scientifically designed for all and every walk of life!!

To answer some of the myth circulating around, read the latest interview with Chief Brabon by Journalist Anis Ramli in the latest Royal Brunei Airlines inflight magazine, October 2011 edition (Click on Picture to enlarge).

HIP HIP HOOYAH!!

On behalf of Chief Brabon the founder and Managing Director of ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP, Australia and Global Master Trainer, on behalf of my partner Dr Malek Aziz and Daing Daniel Fitri, with effect from today, we are pleased to announced the promotion of Nawal Aini Zulkifli, Mohd Azhari and Chun Chia Kai from the rank of Corporal at the CHIEF'S ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP to the rank of SERGEANT having satisfied the minimum hours spend (1) conducting sessions as a Commander at 5 platoons; (2) training in Grey as recruit for the past 18 months. The respective Corporals too, have satisfied the minimum sports science certification requirement and have thoroughly understood the culture, vision, mission and the spirit of Bootcamp.

I am also pleased to announce the promotion of Sarge Dann as the highest rank in the COBC, Malaysia and the sixth Staff-Sarge in the whole ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP network globally. He is the first Malaysian and the first asian to be promoted to one of the highest rank by Chief. Sarge Dann has satisfied the minimum hours required conducting sessions as a Platoon Commander for the past 18 months at 5 platoons (more than 1,000 hours as Platoon Commander) and had successfully groomed his subordinates to be capable of carrying out the duty of a Sergeant and had trained all the Lance Corporals that will soon to be promoted to the rank of Section Commander with the rank of a Corporal.

PJ HALF MARATHON 2011

PJ HALF MARATHON have lost its glory! I ran my first running event 8 years ago at the PJ Half Marathon for the 10km distance... shortly after conquering my first Mt Kinabalu Climb in 2003. We have not race the PJ Half marathon for about 5 years (?) but today we were back running the PJ Half marathon with about a dozen friends from the COBC but of course, I had only registered for 10km. A centimeter extra, my knees would have rebelled worst than Bersih 2.0.

There used to be 30,000 runners running the PJ Half marathon in the past but today, I think they were barely 3,000 but I enjoyed the race today. The 10km route with 2 water stations was good but there were various grouses from from the 21km runners. For one, traffic police allowed vehicles to cross path with runners. Runners were choked with exhaust fume from passing vehicles. It is imperative to get experienced race marshals at site because I do not think traffic police has the experience being a marshal at running events. Life can be at stake. We did not see ambulance on standby too in case of emergency and there were no distance markers (for 21km).

The people from the chief's circle that race today includes Nawal Aini Zulkifli, Nyna Mohsen, Faizul Zainol, Farhan Zainol, Damien Mac Cord, Ryan Wong, Viki Lim, Jeffery Wong, Rienna Choo, Amy Ho, Joanitta Zaleha Yusoff, Lick Hau Loo, Farah Fazu .... (err did I miss anyone?) Running only 10km, I was the first to finished and had the time to prepare the camera to camwhore others!!

ITS ALL ABOUT USJ1 PLATOON & ANN LOO

Everymonth we bid farewell to some recruits whom had either achieved their targeted goal (eg to look best for their wedding/function), or taking a month/period break or whom had to be relocated for either work or study. Once we had to bid farewell to a comrade, Dyan Dominique an SOB for BU-Bravo platoon when she left to pursue her study at the University of Melbourne. Today, we bid farewell to Ann Loo from USJ1-Alpha platoon whom was 'relocated' to Johor for a good 2 years. When we received an invitation for a surprise farewell breakfast after COBC session, we just cant resists and drove to USJ1 with only less than 4 hours of sleep.

Ann Loo was not just a comrade but she is also one of our most aspiring recruit. She had also made it to the COBC Hall of Achievers at HERE. When she bid farewell to her comrade at our official COBC Facebook page, within minutes, everybody felt the lost of her presence. (Click on picture to enlarge)

COBC 12/12: GOOD BYE OCTOBER

A second, a minute, an hour and/or a day that passes by, is gone forever. A week or a month flyby and is gone before we even had the time to ponder what we had productively done and/or achieved. That is how we spend our time.. lavishly! so lavished that if it were money spent, we could probably be in deep overdraft; spending more time that we don't have. However, for recruits at the Chief's Original Bootcamp (COBC), a month passesby with a good spirit of achievement! Especially if they were to A.C.E. their COBC program because trust me, only those that have ACE their monthly COBC would understand the struggle to be discipline in an investment that is far better than Public Mutual unit trust.. an investment to a better health and a better lifestyle. That is why at the COBC, we recognize the recruit's effort to ACE the monthly program by accepting them in the HALL OF ACE!! Currently a work in progress for the past ACERS but from September onwards, the achievers can be viewed at HERE.

With a good health, we have better quality time in the 24 hours aday. With better health, we have more savings than those spend on pills, medication, doctors etc. I told my sister Dr Teratai Edithy Pahamin, if the whole population joined the COBC, you and other doctors will be out of job!

BEHIND THE COBC CURTAINS. WHEN GREY TURNS RED, THEY DONT TURN GREEN!! WELCOME NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK!

Instructors must conformed and adhere to various factors to be and to maintain themselves as an instructor at the CHIEF'S ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP.  Those factors are not only important for their career advancement but may lead to a demotion or stagnation in their career if is breached. Similarly, before anyone can wear the prestigious COBC Red Tee and be recognise as a COBC instructor, they will be grilled and cooked to perfection in command, policies, workout forms and technique as well as trainer's etiquette to be ready for the final assessment by the Founder and Global Master Trainer, world re-known bootcamp fitness specialist Chief Brabon. Having met COBC shortlisting and strict criterias, all instructors will be on probation until that final assessment and all instructors whom does not score sufficient point, will either be given a grace period to improve and/or are subjected to demotion. Such is the stringency to wear the Red Tee at the COBC.

HAPPY DIWALI: COBC 11/12 NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK

Inculcating the Malaysian culture especially in celebrating the festivities of all religion and races, the Chief's Original Bootcamp began the day with Diwali Special at the BU Alpha & Bravo session this morning. In an unprecedented gatherings of all Chief's instructors including the Seal Pups instructors to be in grey (except for those instructors on duty), the atmosphere became more heated and hyped with majority being a former and existing national and state athlete. Sarge (COBC) Dann was assisted by Corporal (COBC) Chun and Corporal (COBC) Tom for circuit specialy designed for Diwali.
