ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP MALAYSIA: AUG PG3: LAST WORKOUT FOR MT KINABALU

30 July 2010. I arrived this morning and had a shocked to see a women in BLACK-dress standing by the field at 5:30am.... The dress was so long that I could not even see the leg.. its like a women floating in darkness. A closer look....... It was Farhanah Bamadhaj.. our admin, in long black jubah. She is on MC and came without the grey or blue tshirt.. (10 Grunts)
3rd session today focussed on major muscle group with the three main circuit namely (1) Upper Body Race Circuit (2) Lower body Race Circuit and (3) Core Race Circuit. The three circuits targeted the Deltoids (shoulder), trapezius, sternocleidomastoid, back muscle, gluteus, rectus abdominis (abs), Pectoralis Major & minor (chest), rectus femoris, sartorius, Gluteus maximus and adductor magnus.... these were the muscle that was smiling with today's session.

28 JULY 2010, a second session is usually a mild introduction session after the benchmark assessment but today... the session felt tougher. Its either, there will be no mercy from start or I was still recovering from the Mt Nuang climb.. i think its the latter.
Having trekked, hiked and climbed up and back down Mt Nuang for 8 hours, we thought we would be stronger but the 1 hour session was damn good that I ended up back in bed and slept for an hour before jumping out into the shower and left for work.
Corporal Sandy took us through the warming up before leading us to the circuit field for a two partner-base-circuits. Sarge Dann assisted and observed Corporal Sandy commanding the Alpha-platoon. All instructors together, trained on alternate days to polished themselves and to be better.

INTRODUCTION
25 July 2010. Mount Nuang is the highest point in Selangor with the height of 1493 meters (4898feet) and part of the Titiwangsa Mountain.
Titiwangsa Mountains (banjaran titiwangsa) are the mountain range that forms the backbone of the Malay Peninsula. The titiwangsa Mountains is part of suture zones that runs north-south, starting in Thailand (Nan-Uttaradit/Dien-Bien-Phu suture zone) and extending south towards peninsular Malaysia (Bentong-Raub suture zone.

25 JULY 2010. Whilst 8 recruits (including guests) from the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP MALAYSIA @ Bandar Utama went for MOUNT NUANG EXPEDITION in Hulu Langat, another 8 recruits participated in the BHP Orange run.
Since the BHP Orange run was first organised, we had never missed it every year but this year, we went to Mt Nuang expedition instead but our circle of friends from the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP MALAYSIA @ Bandar Utama ran the BHP Orange 11km run and many of them were first time participants at the BHP Orange run and some were Virgin runners.

This year marked an important year for PROTON having celebrated its 25th year anniversary and MAYBANK's 50th year anniversary but more importantly this year is also my parent's 40th year anniversary, my elder sister Chempaka Emalin & Azhar Sulaiman's 15 year anniversary, Mine's 10th YEAR, my sisters Melor Edina & Rhiza Ghazi's 10th Year and Dr Teratai Edithy & Shazrul Azwa Asari's 5th anniversary.

21 July 2010. Its the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP MALAYSIA July second last session at Bandar Utama and the weather was moody and tantrum, crying out a downpour of rain. The sky was so dark.... Oh.. its dark because it was 5:30am, the time we arrived at the BU3/1 football field. In darkness, we can only imagine the field condition.
The rain was still heavy when Sarge did the roll-call. Corporal Chun and Corporal Sandy Robers were the other instructors for today's session. All the Kiasu were present but almost half of the recruits were absent. When the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP tagged the line "Rain Hail or Shine" we exercise... they really mean business.

18 July 2010, Ipoh. Which hotel did we book again? I asked Nawal Aini Zulkifli as we searched the GPS to find our way to the Hotel in Ipoh. It was almost 9pm and we drove in heavy rain from KL to Ipoh. Its the Ritz Carlton, said Rose Emini Pahamin via the Blackberry Chat. Rose Emini Pahamin, Ilyanna Aylin Ayob, Bahariah Bahadom, Suriana Saiful, Nyna Mohsen hadarrived earlier in the morning.
To cut the story short, we were rescued by Aunty Umi, Mum's best friend whom is an Ipoh'ian. We reached the hotel and saw a big signboard that reads... "Ritz Kowloon". No, we didnt stay there but the next block the Ritz Garden.
Bahariah Bahadom booked our hotel rooms via the internet bearing the distance to the Stadium where we will be running but without any knowledge of the hotel except for the pictures posted on the internet that look pretty awesome. To cut the story short again... the soonest we enter the hotel and into our room, Nawal Aini Zulkifli said... this hotel smells Sex but the hotel, lobby and the rooms were clean, tidy, neat and nice.

NAWAL AINI ZULKIFLI, a Lance Corporal at the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP passed her Level 1 military leadership certification by the Global Master trainer Chief Brabon & Gunny Emily in May 2010. Nawal Aini Zulkifli has been a recruit for 6 months prior to being trained as an instructor at the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP. Nawal Aini Zulkifli had participated in 37 mix races in triathlons, dualthons, marathons and other shorter running distances since she picked up the outdoor activities in 2004.

16 July 2010 Its the second Bring-A-Friend day at the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP @ Bandar Utama. The first Bring-A-Friend Day was instructed by our special guest Chief Brabon, the founder and Managing Director of ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP Worldwide. Today, we had special guests too but not to instruct. Our special guest today was a bunch of HARLEY DAVIDSON bikers led by Raja Affandi, an existing recruit at BU-Bravo.
Just as the warm up started, the bikers arrived fashionably late backed by a thunder-storm noise BROOOM BROOOOM VROOOOM BOM BOM BOM....

CHUN CHIA KAI, a corporal with the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP @ Bandar Utama was a recruit since October 2009 for 8 months before being selected to be trained as an instructor. Chun Chia Kai was a Delta for the whole period as a recruit and held the record for the fastest Benchmark timing at the former KL Alpha platoon.
Chun Chia Kai has never missed any session nor have had any late-comer record during his 8 months as a recruit. Chun Chia Kai is also a senior council member of our 100% ACE (100% Attendance, 100% Commitment and 110% Effort). Chun Chia Kai has lost 8kg while under-training at the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP.

14 July 2010. Welcome back John Chuah, Tricia Fredericks and all those football World Cup followers. The past month has been tough on both recruits and trainers whom suffered from the World Cup Jetlag, staying up late at night with only very few hours of sleep. They were only physically in Malaysia but their thought and mind were in South Africa. 18 recruits were absent on Monday's training session when they did not get sufficient sleep watching the final match between Spain and Holland. Some recruits were Spain and some Holland strong supporters but some simply wanted to see if Paul the Octopus (Sotong) prediction was true. Me...? I just like to eat Sotong.
Paul the Sotong's prediction was right... Spain won!! and so was the prediction that we will suffer if we missed any training session. To welcome back those Missing-in-World-Cup, we had an exhilarating 705 calories burn session this morning with Ropes and killer sprint and run cardio.

We received PROTON Holdings Berhad invitation card early for the celebration of Proton 25 years silver jubilee on 9 July 2010.
The celebration was held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on 9 July 2010 and 2500 guests were invited including former pioneer staff of Proton. Malaysia Prime Minister YAB Dato Seri Najib Tun Razak was the guest of Honor. Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Ali as well as most dignitaries attended the historic event.

9 July 2010, on a 4 car convoy everybody except for me, Rhiza and Azhar Sulaiman left for Sepang Golden Palm resort Gold Coast to celebrate Mum's 62nd Birthday. I had to attend Proton 25 year Silver jubilee celebration at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. Rhiza was in Penang attending a court case.. Lawyer! Azhar Sulaiman was in Johor doing some movie shooting.
We bought the villa at the Sepang Gold Coast but took 4 Villas for this weekend celebration.

7 July 2010. Its Party time time at the ECOBA.
Why? Well.. Like what I've mentioned before, we don't really need a reason to party... but if there must me a reason, it must be to give ourselves a deserving break from a month of exercising. There is no better reason but to pat ourselves on the back and say... hey, we took the first step of health-maintenance. There is also no better people to celebrate it with, beside the people that share similar passion.

I rushed through the early bad morning traffic and took the NKVE highway to Putrajaya to attend the Ministry of Finance 2011, Budget Consultative Council meeting when suddenly my driver prompted the car in smoke!!!!
I look back through the rear screen and saw a thick smoke and immediately asked my driver to stop the car... Who knows, the car may be blown to pieces and I wont be around for the first ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP graduation party tomorrow night.
The council meeting to be chaired by YAB Prime Minister is scheduled to start at 9am and the time then was 8:35am.
We stopped the car by the road side and saw a thick red-oil flowing under the car.... Gearbox problem, my driver claimed. Less than 3 years old MERCEDES bought new from NZ Wheel have successfully gathered a long list of problems... but that is a story for another occasion.
