Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri... there is no better way than to start the EID MUBARAK morning with a jolly good fat burning, ass tightening, stomach crunching, heart throbbing exercise.. and that's exactly how ours started!!
Yes.. ONLY at the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP @ Bandar Utama!!! No.. exercise knows no holiday and knew no break even on Hari Raya or Chinese New Year.... RAIN, HAIL OR SHINE!!!..
That is the commitment at the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP and that is the commitment of our super kiasu, hyper & energetic Sarge Dann. Sarge Dann sacrificed his first day of Hari Raya commanding Alpha, Bravo and Zulu. He prepared the training field all by himself with the tyres & ropes as part of the training equipments for the well-prepared circuit picked from Chief Brabon's mentoring program.
After a month away from the 5:45am-Alpha platoon, waking up for exercising felt abit strained but we arrived at the training field on time at 5:30am for the 5:45am schedule. Almost all OTAIs (Old Timers) and a few newbies had already arrived. Yam Chan Siu Cheh was also there with her trade-mark torn pants. We have not met Yam Chan Siu Cheh & James Fong since they attended the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP @ Melbourne. Recruits at the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP are part of a Global network. They can attend any ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP sites globally. Lilian Lee went to the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP @ PERTH. As I said earlier.... BOOTCAMPERS takes no break from Bootcamp even during their holiday or honeymoon...
The weather was fine when we arrived but shortly before the session began, it rain!!! but that did not stop us and.. Err.. we started ourselves the warming up session earlier than expected as it gets very cold with the strongest of wind in the downpour. After the warming up session, we were separated according to our heights, into 4 groups Alpha, Bravo, Charlie & Echo for a Group-base circuit with the Tyres and Ropes.
I had John Chuah, James Fong and Scott in my group Team Echo, and we were partnered-up with team Bravo. The session start with Team Bravo carrying and running with an overweight obese old Tyre and Team Echo performs endless pushups.
We were stopped during the second set when there were storm and lightning and continued our exercise under the car porch at the sports complex with TABATAs. We performed 8 sets of Pushups & situps, king kong pushups & flutter kick and Grunts & Mountain Climbers on a slippery tiles at the car porch. The slippery surface was a perfect platform to ensure a better and more focused form and technique. Although slippery, Kenix Lim, Joe Liew, Leesa Tan and a few OTAIs did well whilst some others tried not to slip. Kenix Lim is still as strong as how I remembered her.
It felt great to reconcile with the Alpha's having spent the whole fasting month at the 6:15pm Zulu. They are still super duper kiasu, fun and crazy.
Having burn sufficient calories at the ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP.... now its time for prayer and ... MAKAN!!!!!!
HOOYAH!!
p/s Sarge Dann.. we salute you for your commitment and thank you for making sure we deserve our Nasi Dagang and all feast.
On behalf of ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP @ BANDAR UTAMA,
Selamat Hari Raya AidilFitri
